Special Climate Envoy Urged to Support Climate Fund

100 environmental groups write a letter ahead of COP27 Summit.

Presidential Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry received a letter from over 100 environmental groups based in the U.S. requesting that he support a climate fund. Lower-income nations have promoted the creation of a fund where richer countries pay compensation for climate-related losses and damages.

The climate groups’ letter stated that larger, richer nations produce exponentially more greenhouse gasses than lower-income nations, while lower-income nations suffer exponentially from rising oceans and catastrophic weather.

Envoy Kerry, who recently spoke before the Council of Foreign Relations, is preparing for the COP27 Summit in Egypt next month.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Envoy Kerry as he considers the request to support the climate fund.
  • For prudence for the president and his climate advisors as they prepare for the upcoming climate summit in Egypt.
  • For U.S. officials as they pursue remedies for climate issues.
